Gipson Calls for Proclamation of Emergency in Carson to Protect Families

(SACRAMENTO – October 17, 2021) – After directly informing his constituents in Carson and making contact with the City of Carson, the County of Los Angeles and California's Office of Emergency Services, Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D-Carson) called on Governor Newsom to proclaim a state of emergency in the City of Carson and released the following public statement:

The Select Committee on Police Reform held multiple hearings in 2020 amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Through these efforts, the overall goal of the select committee was to embark on a comprehensive approach to assess ways to hold police accountable, empower our communities, and explore tools to build trust between law enforcement and those they serve.

‘Grab and Go’ Food Distribution Feeds Over One Thousand Families

Wilmington, Ca (Oct. 28, 2020) -- As part of the ongoing “Grab and Go” campaign to provide families with food in light of COVID-19, Assemblymember Mike Gipson and Strength Based Community Change (SBCC) teamed up to distribute 1,500 boxed groceries today to Wilmington and Harbor area residents.
