Leading the Conversation on Police Reform
The Select Committee on Police Reform held multiple hearings in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Through these efforts, the overall goal of the select committee was to embark on a comprehensive approach to assess ways to hold police accountable, empower communities, and explore tools to build trust between law enforcement and those they serve.
As Chair of the Assembly Select Committee on Police Reform, Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson has taken bold and thoughtful action to advance police reform across the state. With both professional law enforcement experience and deep ties to our communities, Assemblymember Gipson understands that real reform must balance public safety with fairness, justice, and equal treatment for all Californians.
