Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva Holds Press Conference on Vaccine Distribution within Orange County Communities
As we all celebrated the season of giving, I ask that all of us continue to help those in need during this pandemic. This year many have been affected by COVID-19. I am organizing a Blankets, Gift Cards, & Socks Drive to provide our local families with items they need for this winter season.
If you would like to join us by donating items, you may call our office to schedule a time to drop off items or you can mail your donations to 1440 N. Harbor Blvd. Ste. 270 Fullerton, CA 92835.
If you have further questions please review the flyer or call our District Office at (714) 525-6515
I am honored and privileged to be sworn-in to serve Assembly District 65 as your California State Assemblywoman.
Today, I took my oath along with the 80 member State Assembly in the most unique Organizational Session in our State’s 170 year illustrious history, in Golden One Arena. Due to social distancing and COVID-19 protocols family and friends were unable to attend.
I want to sincerely thank all of the residents of Assembly District 65 for your support and confidence in me. I am excited and ready to serve the needs of all our residents and thank you for this distinct honor.
Yesterday, over 1000 people lined up as early 5:00 A.M. in City of Fullerton, to get a turkey and groceries. Let us remember that during this thanksgiving season many of our constituents are on the brink of being evicted, losing their businesses, and homes. Let’s cherish people, not things, let’s give what we can to others, and let’s reuse, recycle, and help where needed.
Yesterday, I held my first committee hearing as the new Chair of the Assembly Committee on Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism and Internet Media. As a committee we gathered to hear from tourism experts on the impact of the pandemic on the industry. The tourism sector has been hit very hard in this pandemic and we are working hard to help all our sectors return back to business safely. If you are thinking of a short trip, choose California! #visitcalifornia #tourism
I am happy to celebrate the City of Fullerton’s groundbreaking of the newest park in town, Pearl Park! This project has been years in the making and will provide a basketball court, play structure, rain garden and more. Thanks to a grant from the Prop 68 Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program, funds from the St. Jude HEAL Grant and additional Park Dwelling Funds, Pearl Park will soon be a reality. The park is projected to be completed by October and will provide a great new location for children and families to exercise and play!
