Living with Hepatitis B & Hepatitis C in California

Viral Hepatitis is the seventh leading cause of death in the world and a growing problem here in California. Cases of Hepatitis B and C are increasing every year in our State and socioeconomically underserved communities and communities of color are most likely to be affected.

Please join me for an informational hearing to discuss ways to address the Hepatitis B & Hepatitis C epidemics in California.

Tuesday, August 9

Come listen directly to Rachel McLean, chief of the California Office of Viral Hepatitis Prevention and other experts and advocates discuss the disease’s impact on disproportionately affected communities and new developments in treatment.

Assemblymember Gipson Announces Availability of Assembly Fellowship Program Applications

It gives me great joy to share with you that applications are now being accepted for the California State Assembly Fellowship Program. This is an incredible opportunity that I don't want you to miss!

Founded in 1957, the Assembly Fellowship Program is one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious legislative fellowships. It offers an opportunity for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to directly participate in the legislative process. Each year, 18 applicants are selected.

The 11-month program provides an introduction to public policy formation and adoption in the California Legislature through full-time work as a professional legislative staff member. Fellows receive a monthly stipend of $2,627, as well as medical, dental and vision benefits.

The Assembly Fellowship Program is co-sponsored by the California State Assembly and California State University, Sacramento through the Center for California Studies.
