(Los Angeles) - Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson (D-Carson) joined community advocates, supporters, and families who have lost loved ones at the hands of gun violence in South Los Angeles for a rally in support of tougher gun laws. “The shoes that you saw spilled here on the street of Vermont were shoes of people who used to walk among us,” said Assemblymember Gipson. “They were individuals who used to live here- these were children, fathers, mothers, just normal folk who were killed, taken away from us by gun violence in this community and today we are saying enough is enough.” Gipson pointed to his recent proposal, AB 2382, which aims to address the problem of unregistered “ghost guns.” Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
