Assembly Urges Congress to Immediately Act on DACA

(Sacramento) – Assemblymembers Mike Gipson (D-Carson) and Eloise Gómez Reyes (D-San Bernardino) wrote House Resolution 66 to push Congress to develop a bipartisan and effective version of the Dream Act that includes a pathway to citizenship for the estimated 800-thousand young people brought to this country as children. HR 66 also condemns President Trump’s decision to revoke the current version of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). “It’s important to emphasize that these children are here through no fault of their own and for many America is the only home they know,” Assemblymember Gipson said.
