(Sacramento) – When thousands walked off the job in 1886 to demand an eight hour work day, International Worker’s Day, or May Day as its commonly called, was born. Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D-Carson) says, on May 1st, let’s recognize the history of May Day and use this year’s celebrations to organize around the vital issues workers face today.
