(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D-Carson) and the State Assembly adjourned the March 30, 2017 floor session in the memory of Mike Garcia, who was a driving force in the Justice for Janitors movement and a longtime president of SEIU 1877 and USWW. Garcia had passed away on March 25th. “Mike Garcia made sure that working class people were not only in the conversation but leading the conversation for justice and equity,” said Assemblymember Gipson. “He was a visionary leader, and I am eternally grateful for his friendship, mentorship and guidance.” Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
