California Black Leaders Speak out Against Trump Administration

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D-Carson) was joined at a State Capitol press conference by a group of distinguished African American legislators, labor and community leaders, to respond to recent actions by the Trump Administration and to unveil House Resolution 28, which declares California’s position on federal issues dealing with healthcare, immigration and worker protections, highlighting the disproportionate impact to the Black community. “I stand with my community and all of California when I say that the current federal administration does not represent California or our values,” stated Assemblymember Gipson. “Whether it is the impact of the recent immigration raids; or the disastrous attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act; or the efforts to destroy labor unions; I speak for our state when I object to the attempt to undo our progress in the name of bigotry, ignorance and hate.” Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
