For immediate release:

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – (December 2, 2024) Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D-Carson) joins global efforts to raise awareness and reaffirm his unwavering commitment to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Assemblymember Gipson emphasizes the importance of ensuring that every community has the resources, education, and support needed to combat HIV/AIDS effectively.

“World AIDS Day is a reminder of how far we’ve come in the fight against HIV/AIDS and how much work remains to reach our goal of zero new cases,” said Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson (D-Carson). “This isn’t just about statistics, it’s about lives—our families, friends, and neighbors who deserve access to prevention, treatment, and care. I am committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure our communities, especially those disproportionately impacted, have the tools and resources to thrive. Ending HIV/AIDS requires collective action. From expanding access to PrEP and antiretroviral therapies to addressing the stigma that prevents people from seeking care, we all have a role to play. Together, we can achieve a future free of HIV/AIDS.”

Assemblymember Gipson has long championed legislation and initiatives aimed at health equity, including advocating for increased funding for HIV testing, education, and treatment services. As a public servant, Gipson is dedicated to advancing policies that support comprehensive healthcare for all Californians, including continued investments in public health programs and community-based organizations working tirelessly to end the epidemic.
