Statement by Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson on the mass shooting in Fresno

For immediate release:

CARSON, Calif --- Within days of the Saugus High School shooting in Santa Clarita, another mass shooting has claimed the lives of four victims and injured six others. Friends were enjoying a football watch party when the gunman entered through the backyard and began firing.

“How many more loved ones have to die before the Senate takes action?” asked Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson (D-Carson).

“Would the President, Republican senators and gun lobbyists drag their feet if it were their children, siblings or parents who were mowed down by bullets?

“There is an absolute lack of leadership that is all too prevalent in Washington, D.C. Their inaction demonstrates moral insensitivity to the tragedies that families must endure on a regular basis.

“Mr. President, how many more loved ones do we have to bury before you do something?

   “Enough is enough!”
