SACRAMENTO, Ca --- Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson was sworn in today for his third term representing the 64th Assembly District that includes South Los Angeles and parts of the South Bay. Asm. Gipson was also reappointed by Speaker Anthony Rendon for a third term as Assembly Democratic Caucus Chair, leading the historic 60-member supermajority in the Assembly.
“Today is humbling. I am so blessed that the voters of the 64th Assembly District chose to renew my contract and allow me to serve them once again,” said Asm. Gipson. “In the last four years, we have seen unemployment nearly cut in half as business registrations in the district increase. As Caucus Chair, we will utilize our newly elected supermajority to address the issues that Californians care deeply about.”
The Assembly Democratic Caucus, led by Asm. Gipson made history by swearing in 60 Assembly Democrats to be known as the biggest democratic caucus since 1883.
Mike A. Gipson represents the 64th Assembly District that includes the communities of Carson, Compton, Gardena, Harbor Gateway, Lynwood, North Long Beach, Rancho Dominguez, South Los Angeles, Torrance, Watts/Willowbrook and Wilmington.
