Gipson Helps LA Metro Secure Large Funding Boost

For immediate release:

SACRAMENTO, Calif --- The California State Transportation Agency recently announced that LA Metro will receive roughly $758 million to help reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality in California.

“California has some of the worst traffic congestion in the world,” said Assemblyman Gipson. “Millions of L.A. residents must deal with extreme traffic regularly and I am determined to help address this issue. That is why I advocated fiercely for this funding increase for LA Metro.”

LA Metro is expected to add over 120,000 riders per day by 2028 by expanding rail and transit service. This will improve California’s mobility while significantly reducing the state’s emissions.

Mike Gipson represents the 64th Assembly District. The district includes the cities of Carson, Compton, Gardena, Harbor Gateway, Lynwood, North Long Beach, Rancho Dominguez, South Los Angeles, Torrance, Watts/Willowbrook and Wilmington.
