Gipson and Colleagues Stand in Solidarity for National School Walkout Day

For immediate release:

Sacramento, Calif --- Assemblymember and Democratic Caucus Chair Mike A. Gipson released the following statement in support of Wednesday March 14, 2018 as National School Walkout Day, and the need for congressional action on sensible gun reform.

“Today, I am standing with our youth and advocates across the nation to demand congress and this federal administration act on good, sensible gun reform legislation. The time of ‘thoughts and prayers’ is over. The time for action and legislation is now,” said Asm. Gipson.  “One month ago, 17 beautiful lives were lost due to a cowardly act that involved guns.  Now, students are taking matters into their own hands and protesting members of congress who refuse to act. Congress should be ashamed.  Our youth are taking more action than they are on this issue.”
