CARSON, Calif ---Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson (D-Carson) and staff will join HabitatLA, L.A. Councilmember Joe Buscaino, Delta Air Lines and volunteers to build a home for Ms. Denise Harris and her four children. Ms. Harris is an employee of L.A. County and holds two other part time jobs.
Team Gipson will welcome the Harris family to the 64th Assembly District as they gather for construction on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. on East 115th Street in Watts.
“This hard working woman and her family are deserving of this new home. Each of these houses is a symbol of hope,” said Assemblymember Gipson. “The homes that we build and repair together in our community will help to eliminate poverty and provide much needed affordable housing.”
Recently, Assemblymember Gipson co-authored SB35 that would streamline the approval process for affordable housing.
