Legislature Sends Robust Budget to Governor - Democratic Caucus Chair Expresses Support Of ‘Protect and Persist’ Spending Plan

SACRAMENTO, Calif --- Assemblymember and Democratic Caucus Chair Mike A. Gipson released the following statement in support of today’s budget passed by the California Legislature:

“Over the last 6 months, the legislature has worked to craft a budget that mirrors California’s values. Today, we are sending the Governor a spending plan that grows the state’s Earned Income Tax Credit, increases funding for schools, and maintains critical programs like the Middle Class Scholarship.  I am proud that we have once again produced a budget that is balanced, sound, and seeks to protect our progressive gains.”
