WILMINGTON, Calif --- Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson (D-Carson) has selected Los Tres Cochinitos of Wilmington as the 64th Assembly District Small Business of the Year. The local restaurant will join other recognized establishments in Sacramento for an award’s ceremony in June.
“For over 40 years, Los Tres Cochinitos has been serving the Heart of the Harbor in and out of the restaurant” said Asm. Gipson. “Whether it’s community sponsorship, civic engagement or business-to-business partnership, Los Tres Cochinitos has been on the frontline and is always willing to serve.”
Each year, the California Small Business Association hosts their Awards Ceremony and Recognition Luncheon to honor small businesses from up-and-down the state of California. On June 5, 2017, Los Tres Cochinitos owners and Wilmington residents Isaura Castañeda and Angel Montes Jr. will join business owners, entrepreneurs and key leaders in Sacramento for a day-long celebration.
“I am proud to acknowledge Los Tres Cochinitos with this honor. Isaura, Angel and the rest of the team have created a community staple for all to enjoy” said Asm. Gipson. “You can’t drive through Wilmington and not stop here. It’s like breaking the law.”
Located in Wilmington, Los Tres Cochinitos is a family owned restaurant established in 1973 that is known for their traditional Mexican food and fresh seafood. Los Tres Cochinitos has also sponsored major community-led events with the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, the Port of Los Angeles, and I Heart Wilmington just to name a few.
