Gipson Announces ‘Letter Writing Campaign’ in Advance of Possible Vote to Gut ACA

For immediate release:

(CARSON, Calif) – Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson, Chair of the Democratic Caucus, is announcing a Letter Writing Campaign in response to the recent vote by congressional republicans to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA) with Trumpcare, a disastrous plan that could jeopardize healthcare for 5 million Californians.

“Our federal legislators need to hear from us. They need to know that in California and other states that have embraced the ACA, it is working” said Asm. Gipson.  “Millions of Californians now have comprehensive, affordable health coverage that does not discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions. We cannot and will not let this happen to our most vulnerable Californians.”

Constituents in the 64th Assembly District are encouraged to send a letter to the Office of Asm. Mike A. Gipson via mail, email, or his website reinforcing the importance of the ACA in California.  Once received, Asm. Gipson will personally deliver letters to senate and congressional republicans in Washington at a time to be announced.

“I intend to personally deliver a box of these letters to republicans in Washington, and remind them that 1 in 6 Californians benefit from the ACA” said Asm. Gipson.
