Quirk-Silva Funds Irrigation System for Muckenthaler Cultural Center

SACRAMENTO –Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva (D – Orange County) has secured a total of $25,000 in funding for the repair and restoration of the Muckenthaler irrigation system from the 2018-19 State Budget. This funding will allow the iconic cultural center to completely renovate their irrigation system, and enhance the pristine natural landscape of its grounds for North Orange County’s residents, their neighbors, and guests for years to come. This funding allocation is part of varied and continuous efforts from Quirk-Silva to bring state money back into Orange County.
“I, for one, am excited that we have new resources to move forward on this project, and I am happy to contribute to enhancing the landscape of this community jewel,” said Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva. “The Muckenthaler has a place in the hearts of so many. They have helped to create memories for future generations of families in our Orange County neighborhoods.”

On Friday, August 3, 2018, Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva presented a check to the Muckenthaler at the Taste of Mexico Fundraiser event. Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva, Farrell Hirsch, CEO Muckenthaler Cultural Center, The Consulate of Mexico in Santa Ana, and The Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce were all in attendance of the event.
