Student Protection Act

AB 393, the Student Protection Act, ensures that cost of tuition and fees in California’s State Universities (CSU) cannot be increased until the 2019 to 2020 academic year. The author of the bill also urges the regents of the University of California (UC) system to also adopt this policy.

“The Student Protection Act freezes tuition and gives students piece of mind that the cost of higher education will be capped for the near future,” said Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva. “This bill is a small but vital act to protect our students from worsening financial situations.”
